The Good Shepherd

John chapter ten

Enter not by the door, and you will come to grief

Climb some other way you’re a robber and a thief.

In by the door, the true shepherd came,

His sheep hear him, as He calls them by name.

As they hear Him, they follow Him by choice.

Not driving, but leading, they follow His voice.

A stranger they’ll not follow, but from him flee.

They know the strange voice, won’t set them free.

Jesus said, “Truly, I am the door of the sheep.”

If you enter by Me, your soul I will keep.

All before Me, were only there for greed

But their voices My sheep would not heed.

The thief came only to destroy and kill.

I came to give them life, more abundantly still.

The hireling, who does not own the sheep,

When the wolf comes, will not them keep.

I am the Good Shepherd, My sheep know me.

Other sheep have I, and there shall be,

One shepherd, one fold, all shall hear My voice.

Come follow Me, I am your best choice.

My sheep follow Me, and I know them too,

Eternal life I will give, if My will they will do.

Become one of My flock before it’s too late,

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, now in Heaven, a-waits.
